Salem White 220 Grit Alpha Alumina (50 lb Pail)

A select group of precision graded fused aluminum oxide abrasive powders.  These durable and sharp grains are proven in many industrial applications where superior finish and close dimensional controls are required.  Salem Alpha Alumina are sized to extremely close limits.

White Fused aluminum oxide is a high purity abrasive.  This abrasive is white in color due to the extremely high aluminum oxide content, typically 99.5% pure.  Its sharp shape and softer grain structure (Compared to Brown Fused) yield good stock removal with ta gentle lapping action.  While aluminum oxides are recommended for use on soft metals or nonmetallic materials and application where preventing chemical contamination of the end product is critical.  Precision lapping powders are available with suspension treatments which will prevent hard packing of the particles in water or oil slurries.
